New Brace of Silver Grouse.
Regarded as the "king" of game birds, red grouse are native to Britain and can fly at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. The red grouse is Scotland's national game bird, was the former mascot of the Scottish rugby team and is the emblem of the famous whiskey.
This brace of heavy quality model grouse is cast in sterling silver using the traditional, centuries-old technique of lost wax casting where molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the silver has solidified, the wax model is melted and drained away. Each model is then individually hand chased to produce the lifelike effect seen in the finished piece.
